Tips and tools to avoid distraction while setting up your business

Distractions are a nightmare. They interfere with productivity and may hinder your plans to setting up your sustainable enterprise.

A constant inflow of emails, texts, social notifications and pop-up chats can feel invasive and, if not managed properly, could negatively impact on your productivity and well-being.

Here’s some ways to help you unplug from digital distractions and get on with things that really matter! Fixing up planet Earth and setting up your sustainable business.

It acts like a map of how you spend your time when you aren’t thinking about it so if you’re trying to work the nuances out of your routine, it’ll give you the insights you need to manage yourself. No more subconsciously wasting your time!

Go retro. Are you easily distracted? Do you need to block the internet to finish anything on time? Are you better off not being anywhere near a computer? If that's the case, why not use an old-fashioned typewriter instead?

Break through digital distractions. Have you ever used your electronic device or checked it for messages while another person is speaking to you? Or found yourself looking at a colleague only to see that they’re distracted by their phone? Rude isn’t it? There are ways to minimise the negative impact – check out these tips.

Become untouchable. Well, at least once a week. Dedicate one day a week where you don’t have contact with the outside world and totally focus on your business plans. You’ll soon find that it'll impact your productivity and you'll start seeing real progress.

Change your perspective. If you’re get overwhelmed with things while setting up your business, it’s because you care. So, now you need to think about what you don’t care about, or are at least willing to stop caring about so much. Once you recognise it’s impossible to care about everything, you’ll be able to shift your perspective to focus on what’s possible.

So, now you’ve no reason to allow distractions to get in the way of your plans to start up your business.
