New Feature: Owner & Claimant update item status

Warp It admin, new features

What's happened?

When an item is claimed on Warp It, the status of the item passes from active to claimed.

When that item is then collected and delivered to the new location, the new claimant can set the status as collected.

This keeps everything tidy and ship shape.

This also gives the new claimant / owner the chance to actually cancel the claim if that is what is required

What is the the problem we are seeking to solve?

The new owner will get 5 reminders to update the status to collected. These reminders are grouped into the daily round up so they are sometimes missed.

Furthermore, sometimes the status does not get updated because people are busy.

What is the new feature?

We have introduced the ability to update the status of the item to the old owner in the same method as described. 

 

How does this help you?

This means that it is more likely that your claimed items will get their status updated quickly and completely.

What do you need to know?

You may need to send the message out to your members. You can do this by logging in as admin> go to members> go to email members. Copy and paste the following content:

 

Dear Warp It Member

When an item is claimed on Warp It, the status of the item passes from active to claimed.

This keeps everything tidy and ship shape. And helps us understand if there are any outstanding collection jobs.

This feature also gives the new claimant the chance to actually cancel the claim,  if that is what is required.

The new owner will get 5 reminders to update the status to collected. These reminders are grouped into the daily round up so they are sometimes missed.

Furthermore, sometimes the status does not get updated because people are busy. 

There has been a recent update to the system which allows the old owner to confirm when an item has actually been collected. 

This will help us to manage the system better.

Possible issues

You get a few grumbles from users about increased notifications to old owners  but it is a very minor change to help you manage your reuse program.
