In a bid to scale up support for charities based in African countries, Warp It has launched an online reuse portal specifically for UK universities and the NHS already donating to the continent.
The aim is to bolster the amount of assets sent to African charities many of which are focussed on medical aid and education.
The move comes as donations to charity, both in the UK and abroad, organised by the Warp It community reaches over £5,000,000 and continues to climb.
Assets, including office furniture, fixtures and fittings, catering and kitchen equipment, stationery, uniforms, lab equipment, and medical equipment, have been distributed for reuse to charities, schools, social enterprises, and community groups.
Above: the portal will boost the amount of assets sent to African charities.
The new Warp It portal will simplify the process for UK universities and NHS Trusts who already, or want to, support charities in Africa. It will also allow them to easily track items and gather metrics, such as the cost and carbon saved, in direct relation to these activities.
To register to use the African donation portal, please contact Ben Lynch, Partnership Manager, on 0800 048 8755 or email ben@warp-it.co.uk.
