A charity working relieve poverty and sickness across Africa is seeking unwanted medical equipment to distribute to the continent’s rural hospitals.
Healthcare for Africa is working with the Warp It community to find and send old or unwanted life-saving medical equipment and supplies in its quest to promote and preserve good health across Africa.
The charity joined the Warp It reuse community at the beginning of 2022, and as demand continues the charity is appealing for donations of old medical equipment and excess supplies so they can send them to where they are needed most.
The charity focuses on delivering healthcare projects in sub-Saharan African countries including Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
Items needed includes MRI machines, IV drips, ventilators, resuscitation equipment, bedside tables, walking aids, and hospital beds.

Naomy Samoei, UK Director, said:
“We deliver life-saving medical aid, equipment, and assistance to Africans in great need. We do this by partnering with organisations, such as NHS Trusts, that deliver healthcare services, and Warp It is helping us to do just that.”
Above: reusing medical equipment dramatically minimises waste and goes a long way to saving our planet.
But more needs to be done. Naomy continued:
“There are severe shortages in Africa, limited access to essential medical equipment and supplies, and there are no ambulances. People are dying, and this is especially the case in rural areas where the infrastructure isn’t robust, so we urgently need to find and send more supplies.
“I am always checking what is available on Warp It and the wish list feature helps me with this. We’d love to partner with even more organisations who may be disposing of perfectly usable equipment so we can take it to people in desperate need.
As well as having a massive positive impact on so many lives, reusing life-saving medical equipment also dramatically minimises waste and goes a long way to saving our planet.”
