Firstly, before we dive right into the ways in which Warp It has impacted the shape and culture of the NHS and UK Healthcare in general, we want to say thank you.

We’d like to thank all of the brilliant professionals in the NHS who have supported our mission, thank you to those who bought into our reuse model, and every green champion that pursued having a Warp It reuse project installed in their healthcare facility. From our first hospital to our most recent, it is such a brilliant journey to be a part of, and the icing on the cake, winning NHS Supplier of the Year 2018, means a great deal to all of us here at Warp It.

This resource will be handy for anyone who is donating or planning to donate assets to charity as part of a surplus assets reuse program or a furniture reuse network.

This resource will be handy for anyone engaging interns of any type. However we are particularly focussing on engaging interns as part of a surplus assets reuse program.

Our aim is to make reuse mainstream in organisations. 

We regularly talk to many people who are implementing a reuse system in their organisation and found that many are struggling with a whole host of issues. This ranges from securing buy-in and getting people on board with the project to communicating simple successes and achievements.

In this report we will address a variety of topics relating to the difficulties that can arise when trying to set up or grow a reuse project in any type of organisation. We will draw from a survey that we conducted of our customers and our bank of case studies.

This report will be of use to anyone looking to set up or improve a furniture reuse program or system, in particular:

One way to learn is to make mistakes. Another way to learn is to listen to a teacher. Another way to learn is to talk to people who have done it before.

By talking to others and sharing experiences we learn quicker. What works, what doesnt work. 

When Glenn Feagley, the Lion Surplus Manager at Penn State University said:

we knew we had to find out more.

America always seems to think big! We wanted to find out more about the surplus property sector and reuse within American Universities to see if there were any good ideas we could present back to our customers. We spoke to surplus and sustainability managers all over USA and produced this report- Read about it here.
