It’s time to empty our "drawers of doom"

How can you make a personal impact that’s meaningful? It can be overwhelming, no matter how good your intentions.

Our way of doing things is reaching its limits. The take-make-waste system no longer works for industry, people or our environment.

It’s time to shift the system by designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems.

Known as the circular economy, it's a system based on the idea that what is made can be used, reused, recycled and remade for use once again with as little waste as possible.

Shifting the system involves everyone and everything: businesses, governments, and individuals; our cities, our products, and our jobs. 

Climate change is a big challenge and requires action at a large scale by all levels of government and business.

The good news is that we’re not alone! Governments, local authorities, communities, cities, businesses, schools, and other organisations recognise the urgency and are taking action. Fighting like our lives depend on it; because they do.

There are many reasons to feel that we are at a critical turning point and creating a positive vision for the future and engaged in shaping it, rather than feeling disempowered.

Nature knows best when it comes to survival and self-governance and certainly is our greatest ally in locking carbon away and protecting our climate.

"We need action, not hope on fighting Climate Change.” These words, spoken by 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg, are resonating around the world.

Doing nothing gets you nothing, that’s for sure. But the truth is everyone has the ability to take action.

Never believe people that said you can’t. Be the person that believes you can, and you can achieve amazing things.

Even though we’re grown up, having fun is still important.

Laughing with friends, playing a game, reading a book, or watching your favourite television programme might be called leisure activities, but the health benefits associated with good old-fashioned fun are well-documented and nothing short of incredible.

Make time to have fun; in fact, prioritise it! 

Coaches believe that the individual always has the answer to their own problems but understand that they may need help to find the answer.

The essential part is to learn to silence that pesky inner-voice and allow your instincts to take over.

Sometimes that may mean distracting it, and other times it’s about exploring the ‘worst case scenario’ and removing the fear.
